After hitting a home run on his first ever professional at-bat in his first instructional game, Tebow succeeded in following that up by going 2 for 4 on day 2. While Tebow failed to hit a home run on the second game, he still managed to produce a more productive outings with hits, 2 run scored and 1 run batted in. Not bad for a 29 year old rookie who last played baseball in high school about 11 years ago.
"I felt good" Tebow was quoted telling the NY Daily News as he signed autographs for the hundreds of fan who came to watch him take on the challenge to make it to the Major League. To be exact, 304 were in attendance for this game and a glaring majority were there for the former Heisman trophy award winner.
Overall, Tim Tebow is 3 for 10 alongside a home run, 2 run batted in, 3 runs scored over 2 instructional games. The former Denver Broncos Quarterback looked increasingly at ease and comfortable at the plate while succeeding in getting ahead in the counts on multiple occasions and was even able to draw a few walks. So Tebow was not blindly hacking at everything by striking out. He's actually showing good patience while still retaining aggressiveness to go after his pitch.
His fist base hit of this second game was actually on a 97mph fastball from pitcher Jordan Holloway for a single. He later on, scored on a 2-runs single by teammate Hansel Moreno.
So Tebow is already showing great improvement in such a short time but his distractors will continue to hate on him and ridicule his baseball journey. Of course, Tim should simply ignore them all and continue on his path and hopefully, he could prove them all wrong for doubting his sincerity in taking such a task.
